Hard starting when WARM
First time firing it up after a couple days sitting, wills start right up. However, ensuing starups take a great deal of cranking, and then, when it does catch, it belches out a big cloud of smoke and gas fumes.
Am I not pulling the fuel down into the cylinders and it's just pooling? Something ignition related? There seems to be plenty of spark. Runs great after it clears up, which is almost immediately.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for your assistance.
Jim.

RE: Hard starting when WARM
Oooh... Weird coincidence. Just after I post mine, somebody posts the same almost exact problem. Makes me want to go back and double check the spark situation.
In any event, any help is appreciated.

RE: Hard starting when WARM
check your fuel pressure regulator for a leaking diaphram... pull the vaccum line to it and make sure it's not wet inside......you can run a koeo/koer test to check for any codes if none see if when it's hard to start it's because of a fuel issue or spark....if your injectors are leaking down it'll flood it out and cause a hot start issue. if that is the case after it sits over night any fuel that leaked down may have evaporated and start easy in the morning.... you'll need a fuel pressure gauge to test for this condition and no there is no other way to verify it without a gauge.
