Hello there, I own a 89 mustang lx with a rebuilt 302 (306) with bolt ons,lakewood susp,spider 373gears and a Auburn locker,

I have 225-50-16 I bought today for the front and the rears i am running 245-50-16, with 80 % tread,

The 225's i bought are the new kuhmo ecsta AST, they have soft side walls... and seem like i am riding on a Ballon...I dont like that feeling much... I am running 35 psi on all 4's

the 245s are supra 712's with firm sidewalls, and hook up good on the street,

the tread pattern is prety close to the same,

My question is How much PSI is safe to run on these tires, to get rid of the soft side walls, and the bouncy feeling?

I notice when i get on the throttle, my car will track to the right and left... then i have to let off the gas, Cuss its all over the road..

It was not like that 3 hours ago? Agliment?

Did you get the tires from a tire shop?

you could have gotten some used tires that have some broken belts in them, a broken belt will do that.

I hope thats not the case, I watched him pull them off the shelf, with the stickers on them... there brand new Americans Tire Co.

Take the tires back, get something else, even a cheaper tire should not do that, not a new one.

What would cause it though? i dont want to take them back and look a ***...if i was Wrong

I can understand the soft wide walls, but not the tracking.. my susp is tight and my steering is strong.

If everything was fine before you got the tires, what else could it be, it has to be the tires. That is the way I would look at it. It is not being an ***, it is being smart.

I just called them, and they said the tire will buldge out if the rim is not wide enough for the tire.

same series tire as i had before, and it didnt buldge out like this one does..

Kinda worries me when they have a bunch of high school kids working in there install shop...

Take them back. If you're wrong then at least you learned something, If the tires are messed up you are risking a wreck and a totaled car or you being injured.
