Default 5.0 tuning help

OK, I'm new to the fox body gameand I need some help! HELP!
This is what I got. A 92 lx coupe (not CHP) with a 86,000 orig. miles and supposedly rebuilt with 6,000 miles on the rebuild. 5 speed, stock bottom end, iron GT40 heads mild port clean up, explorer upper/lower mild ported, bbk 70mm egr, bbk thottle body, bbk equal length headers ruuning ford30 lb. injectors with adj. fuel regulator. 80mm pro-mass airto match injectors. Thought this set up was way to rich, sucked gas like crazy but did run decent but flat all the way through the rpm range didn't run like some coupes I have drove with less mods.
I decided to defuel and went to a typhoon upper/lower intake fully ported, CL intake tube, ford 24 lb. injector with a CL 70mm mass air to match took the bassani x-pipe cats out and ran an off road X-pipe. Results, has a flat spot from 2500 rpm to 4000 than comes on hard after 4000 and keeps pulling to redline but it still doesn't got that crazy feel that You know these coupes got.
[ul][*]I need some solid advice on both set ups and where to go now. Any takers.[/ul]

when you start messing with stock settings such as Af ratio then you better have an idea of what your doing. its difficult to undo something like whats going on. the simpler the better.

it does not look like you have a cam in there. sounds like the guy before you thought that the more fuel the better. you need to try to match everything, balence your combo. dont get to big of anything ie mass air and injectors. get rid of your Cand L. i would be willing to bet if you put 19 pound injectors back in along with your stock mass air sensor your car would run very well.

with your set up you need a cam and a good tune. balance is the key to getting your motor to run well. you just need to mach each performance part with each other.

it sounds like you have a good start. I would check the cam. Maybe put some 3.55 gears in it. Also it sounds crazy but just turning the air meter in small clockwise and counterclock wise positions seems to change powerbands.I might check the fuel pressure also. get a regulator that you can adjust.

Starting a new thread is one thing,[&:] making a new account is def a bannable offence. On top of which the threads were started 20 minutes apart in the middle of the night. Yeah, a lil patience might work. Not too many members on that time of night.

Just for info. That is my son, jr. I'm senior and I did not know he posted the same question. Thanks for the concern.

Wow at least there is a detective on this forum. I am sure this is not the first time a father and son are registered to this forum and posted similar concerns. Thanks for the people who gave their opinions on what to do with this tuning issue. I was headed towards putting some 19 pounders back in the car.

Oh and further more if you look in my profile I have a 1993 LX hatchback. I am very dissappointed at the concern for thinking somebody created another user name to get help. Way more concerned with that and not to concerned to help. I thought thats what this forum was all about, but apparently not. I also find it very funny that you think people are not on this forum at that time of night. I did not realize that between 10:30and 11:00 o'clock yow would throw a flag if you made a post. VERY DISSAPPOINTING!!!

Thanks for the clarification. In the future, maybe the 2 of you should talk about what you're going to post so it doesn't happen again.
