Around where I am....the cheapest 5.0L I found was $2900 89 LX. I found one for $1200, but it had "High miles on it" lol....then the 2nd cheapest I found was $2500 and it was a rolling chassis! So they are pretty expensive in my area (Central Ontario, Canada).

how do you like the holley system? thats what i have been looking at for my car.
and your power will prolly be around 300rwhp.
im pretty sure thats what most people ges out of a 5.0 with an h/c/i.
but thats just my guess.

Thanks for all the responses. I will give a brief description since I cant find a digital camera at the moment - black paint/body near perfect, 18in chrome rims perfect shape, near new tires, engine - small oil leak (which the mechanic i took it to said "no big deal" but i'm a little worried), interior - ok, but a/c and parking brake dont work, regular driving lights/fog lights/all blinkers non-op. From what I can tell, the car is fast as hell and is really a blast to drive. My buddy who drove it the first day I owned it already got a ticket! I live in Chico, California and bought the car in Sacramento. It was the best overall 5.0 that I saw over the last 3 weeks of car shopping so my compulsive buying nature won and I just went for it..

Congratulations on the car. And as far as the oil leak(if it is small), it would not be a 5.0 if it did not have a leak, If it's not a big leak i wouldnt worry about, just check your oil between oil changes to make sure your not losing too much.

Bust on down to Checker Auto and get yourself a shop manual, study it, and start getting yer hands dirty.
Sounds to me like you got a pretty good deal on your 5.0 to me .........
