Ok when my car is hot usually it will start to idle up, now it's idling up and down and when i'm driving it will shake the car, it's definitely the motor doing the skaking because when I stop at a light or something it will be idling up and down, and then when it decided to idle normal again the shaking stops while i'm driving. It's REALLY annoying, because it will shake me all around when i'm driving at slower speeds, then when I stop the idle is going up and down...before it was just going up to like 1700 and STAYING there now it's jumping around from about 800-1200. I took my IAC off the other day and tried to clean it the best I could without any carb cleaner (I used q-tips lol)....any ideas??


Edit- Another note....the wire going from the distributor to the coil is messed up pretty bad, the boot on the end of the wire all broke apart, so I taped it up and it's back in there pretty good, but it might be losing some spark there? I totally forget to get a new wire for it. I'll probably just buy all new wires when I get the chance.

You should use some carb cleaner on the IAC to help get out some more dirt.

If that doesn't help then...
When was the last time the cap/rotor, plugs and wires were changed?
Maybe it's time for a tune up.
If you can, do a diagnostics check. I did and it said that the O2 sensors and the TP sensor were bad.
Also check for vacuum leaks, my car had some trouble with that.
I put a new TP sensoron and also O2 sensors, and haven't had trouble since.

Clean your MAF.Check out the inside of your cap and see if the contact points are worn. If they look slightly worn or it's not new replace it, the plug wires, and the plugs. Also do your fuel filter.
