need some help
a friend of mine built up a efi 302 for his fox body its hard to start once it did finaly start it ran for about 10 mins then died and wouldnt restart. so far hes done e303 cam . stock crank , scat stock langth rods , speed pro forged pistons .30 over , tfs twisted wedge heads double valve springs , 1.6 roller rockers , 30lb injectors , 75mm throttle body and spacer , 76mm maf , anderson power pipe , tfs street heat intake , edelbrock timeing chain , canton oil pan-pick up and dipstick , arp bolts , arp oil pump driveshaft , msd pro billet distributor- digital6 ignition control , and hvcII coil , fel pro gaskets , 9mm frpp wires , ngk spark plugs , 6.7 langth pushrods , 255lph fuel pump hes got a idle adjustment plate hasnt put it on yet. its got 40psi at the fuel rail the pulgs are dry but a little black. are we over looking something or will that idle adjustment plate fix it.

it has good spark fuel is fine compression is fine its either ecu or a sensor or something dumb. i been trying to help him i know ford carb engines fine the efi system is new to me. do you think its not geting enough air maybe the idle air is acting up.

RE: need some help
Are all the sensors plugged in all the way? Seen that way too many times, especially the MAF, where it wasn't pushed in all the way. How about the distributor, was that installed correctly and it's not 1 tooth off or something? How's the base timing? I know it's all basic stuff, but with a new build, the little things often get overlooked.
Is it safe to assume that the MAF is either calibrated to 30# injectors or you got a new tune?

timinng is fine the dizzy is right everythings pluged in. im not sure if he had the ecu retuned or not that might be it.would he have to send the ecu out or can he get a chip for it.

RE: need some help
You can get a chip for it, but that shouldn't be the problem. it may have problems with a rich start due to teh cranking pulsewidth but that's nothing major. And as long as the MAF is calibrated for 30# injectors, then the computer will be able to supply the correct amount of fuel.
