Default 5 Speed Question

Recently bought a 92 GT 5.0 w/ a stock 5 speed. This is my first manual transmission car, let alone mustang, so I have a quick question.....When shifting into gear (usually happens in 4th or 3rd) the shifter feels loose, almost like when the car is in neutral, but never pops out of gear. I've heard this is normal for 5.0's, but am skeptical of this. Any thoughts???

Pull your shifter boot up and check your shifter bolts to make sure they are tight.

better yet, get a new shifter.....the stocker has rubber bushings and it will never feel "tight" but a stocker w/ solid bushings, or any aftermarket shifter will be rock solid, A/M will have good offset springs so help hit 3rd on powershifts too
