Default Transmission Compatibility

My world class T5 transmission is blown.

I need to know what transmissions will work..and what I will need to get

Does the aluminum driveshaft still work with these transmissions?
Will the 02' tranny from a GT work in my car? (i can get one for $400)
What modifications? What will need to be replaced?

Can you use an later tremec TKO or 3650 and convert it in order to work with a 90' mustang 5.0L??

no it is not a direct fit. it could work, but you would need a different length driveshaft and a different bellhousing, perhaps a custom bellhousing. you'll spend way more money converting to a tr3650.

why dont you just replace with another t5? you can get a stock t5 for dirt cheap, you could rebuild yours to stock spec or even stronger. some companies will rebuild a t5 to hold 500hp, and most people agree the t5 is the smoothest shifting (ex: vs tko 600, t56 etc)
