No... It is a factory cover that they used from 86-87 and maybe a couple of 88's.

Are you saying you can wiggle the bottom right side of your upper intake? If so, that delivers air into the combustion chambers and it needs to be sealed tight. Somewhere around 17-20 ft lbs.
No im saying that the little piece of plastic is loose.

Its not homemade, ive seen it on alot of other 5.0s

remove it and take another picture... so we can put this thread to rest
No, I dont want to take it off until I know what it is and risk messing something up.

its just a cover for the freeze plug, you can take it off or not, nothing will happen, my old 86 it fell off, my new one has it still in place

I believe he split his intake in half to port it then welded it back together, finished product looks NICE
