take the wire off the sending unit for the gauge. you replaced both, so you should know which is which. your looking for the sensor with a 1 wire hookup. the connector should be L shaped. take that wire off the sensor and ground the end of it out on the nearest clean metal. holding it against the metal should pin the gauge up at hot.
if it doesn't, either the gauge is bad, or the wiring going to it.

ok ive tried the test that was reccommended.....nothing, so that led me to remove the cluster to check for loose connections....everything seemed to be correct, put the test light to the metal connectors in the plugs for the cluster and only 2 were functional (left plug) and 3 were functional (right side) The wire for the temperature gauge didnt respond...so how to i go about fixin this problem???
