92 Octane fuel from BP?
I started filling with 92 octane gas from BP a few weeks ago and my exhaust system sounds much, much happier. Don't get me wrong, it still sounds pretty ghey (my pony is bone stock at the moment), but the noticible cracking that I was hearing from my cats before is, well, gone. wtf?
Wasn't my car supposedly "engineered" around 87 octane gas? I know this is a more or less stupid post, but I'm just slightly intrigued now. All along I've heard nothing but "92 is a waste--you're not going to get anything out of it over 87", being as my car is bone stock and I haven't even bumped the timing or anything like that..
Is there something I should know about..? If so, please fill me in!
Thanks,
-Jordan

Maybe it has something to do w/ the higher quality fuel and the detergents in it and it's doing a better job cleaning internally then the 87 crap you've been using. Oh and BP around here is 93 octane.

Hmm. Possible. PRO, since I'm retarded and know basically nothing, you wouldn't by chance be able to tell me what the silencer on my car looks like, would you? I've got my air filter housing completely out and I'm not really seeing much.. :\
I r dum. :<
