help with idle

Default help with idle

o.k. my 90 gt idles fine , runs fine, until you turn on the a/c then at idle it begins to surge and goes dead any idea why ?also runs too warm with a/c on if in town need to change radiator but sorta lazy

Could be the IAC not increasing the idle when the demand is called for. Have you tried cleaning it? may need replacing if cleaning is of no help. What does the car idle at normally.

Well if there is something wrong with your radiator id check to make sure your ac condensor is ok. Only thing i can think of is to check and make sure the compressor pulley isnt locking up.

in gear it idles between 700 & 800 rpm it's an auto . with a/c about the same but then it begins the surging issue any help is greatly appreciated

Ok again, have you cleaned the IAC? It may not be raising the idle as needed.

Now, dont just spray the IAC. Take it off and tear it down, there is not much too keep up with, get some brake cleaner and spray the hell out of it. It has a round thing witha point, kinda of like a pindle, i cant remember the correct term. Any way push that in and out while you spray it to make sure it isnt stuck. You might have to get a new gasket when you put it back on, they are cheap.
