RE: help quick!
if you fried the starter with a loose wire, chances are that you fried the ignition switch as well.
drop the plastic shrouds around the steering column and look for this.
pull the wiring connector off and look at it. i guarantee its melted.
if it is, autozone sells the new switch and wiring harness repair kit for under $20

RE: help quick!
you need to stop throwing parts at it and troubleshoot it....if you don't know how heres where to start....
get a test light.......there should be a small wire that is attached to the starter selonoid on the fender well this small wire is usually a elbow looking thing or bolted to one leg that sticks up on the relay..you'll need a wire diagram to get the right color this wire becomes hot in the crank position..it's what pulls the relay in and bridges the two high amp sides to starter from battery....if when you let off the crank position you loose current there =ignition switch probably okay also the starter cable side should have no current on it when relay disengages also....if you have no current when switch is returned to the run position on either of these two wires then suspect a bendix in the starter that fails to return if you have current to the starter wire but none on the ignition engagement "so called wire", suspect a bad selonoid ect ect...hope this helps....also try buying a new starter if it is the problem ...steer away from autozone reman's........
