inexpensive aluminum heads[sm=funnypostabove.gif][sm=icon_rofl.gif]don't know what you mean by inexpensive if it entails the 300. to 500.00 range = won't happen for a decent set ..be prepared to spend at least 900.00 to 1300.00 for a good set unless you can find someone selling used ones at a reasonable price.. try ebay

Why don't you just get the valve guides replaced by another shop. It would be cheaper then buying new heads.

Yep, you're screwed if you don't want to put the few extra dollars into the new valve guides.

I think you are misunderstood my friend, get us a picture.

Someone probally pressed in bronze guides and they look like that normally at the tips where the originals were very thin and cast from the head itself, but as you look down into the meaty section and throughout the head, you should see that there WILL BE NO issues and the guide itself is pressed in very deep.

THE OVERSIZE HOLE IS DRILLED, BREAKING ALL YOUR CASTINGS CRACKING/BREAKING WHERE THE OLD ONES ARE VERY THIN AND ARE PART OF THE HEAD ITSELF.

THESE ARE PRESSED IN THE OVERSIZE HOLE, AND YOUR SET!

i'd like to see these cracked guides. i've seen alot of times when i'd drill guides out whats left of the guide that sticks up from the head (where the seal would be) they split cause a ford guide is .562 OD and all replacement guides are .500 OD. if thats the case, and you cant break the cracked pieces away install your seals over them and you should be fine, alternatively (and better) they could take their little cutter and zing the OD down to .500 (basically it cuts and breaks away all the cracked crap)

your heads arent junk, lets see some fooking pictures man
