I have read the old gear questions and my answer was not there. I have a 92 lx 5.0 with the aod trans. I want to change gears, but I drive the interstate daily. Fuel mileage is somewhat of a concern but comfort is most important. Ive ridden in some cars that sounded like they were wound tight at 75 mph and that was annoying. What gears do I go with?</P>

i dunno if the aod is the same as a 5 speed but if it is get 3.55s.

You want to get 3:73 if you have an aod 3:55 if you have a 5 speed

I just got 3.73's in my 5 speed and it is perfect.

it still will work but you will turn alittle more rpms.

For what you want I'll say again, 3.55's are your best bet. They will be a great improvment over the stock 2.73's and your revs wont be that high at all. Me personally, I would go with 3.73's inmostany5.0 stang even driving the interstate, but you seem to "fear the gear" so go with the 3.55's

i have a aod with 3.73 gears and just came back from a tripfrom las vegas to california and back. I thought it cruised really well around 75mph but i did have to stop for gas alot more then i thought i would of. <edited><editID>metalcrateamp</editID><editDate>37883.0574537037</editDate></edited>
