85 or 92 stang?
Right now I have a 2003 Ford Lightning but I am going to have to sell because of money problems and I am looking at these 2 years of mustangs. I am just wanting your opinions on both of these years. I know the 85 had a carb and the 92 is EFI but I am not for sure on the reliablity of each and which would be better for modding. If someone can give me some info on these 2 years that would be great. Also if you have any links to some sites where I can read all about these 2 mustangs that would be great. Thanks a lot everyone.

depends if you have emisssions ....I have an 85 and a 92...I'd take the 85 over the 92 because of uniqueness...not to may 4 eyed mustangs driving around and for modding if you don't want the hassel of the computer tuning that comes with an efi then go for the 85 and tuning will be quick easy and painless if you know how to tune carbs....and the idle issues sometimes associated with efi won't be a s prevelent with the carbed set up.

RE: 85 or 92 stang?
Okay well now I have BOTH a 1985 mustang gt, and a 1992 mustang lx, both 5 liters, both 5-speeds, both are awesome! Now the 92 does start easier when its cold, where as the 85 takes a little while to warm up, but thats only when the temps really drop down..but thats really only when it gets down below like 40, so its really not that big of a deal.. I do find that the 85 is alot easier to tune, you can go from mild to wild just messing with the carb and what not. Now i had the 7.5 inch rear in the 85, and really had no problems with it, but i still swapped that out for an 8.8 inch rear which was a piece of cake. SO really it about the looks. personally i think the 85 front end looks alot meaner than the 92's, but thats just my opinion. lemme know if you wanna know anything else
