my cheapness has led me to the following package in the "best bang for the buck" type of combo. sure, a better intake and some more expensive heads could be used, but we're not looking to break the bank.

patriot aluminum heads - 895.00
typhoon intake - 275.00
random roller cam - 200.00
cloyes dble roller chain - 40.00
fel-pro gasket set - 100.00
hardened pushrods - 40.00
crane energizer RR's - 200.00
---------------------------------
total 1750.00

w00t w00t i did that on the first try too [8D]

*edited cause nothing lined up right when i posted [:@]

wow, you added 23 rwhp with the tweeker. that souns like a worthwhile mod. is that something you need to do on the dyno, is is the butt dyno sufficient?[sm=bounceybounce.gif]

wow, alot of good info on this thread- thanks guys! is it possible to mill the gt40 heads to regain some compression? or does it screw up the port and bolt alignment for the intake?
You can mill then .040" before you will start having manifold alignment issues.

you should never attempt to tune your car unless you are in a controlled environment, with all the proper tools to do so... otherwise you may be walking home when you melt a piston or two

THATS what I wanted to know---Thank you!----now, say I tok off .030 to be safe, what should that raise copression to? and is it goint o mess with my pushrod length?
the engine ive built have only been och engines, so milling only retards the timing, which is good for the powerband usually depending on setup.

so by the time you pay for the tweecer and the dyno time, its costing way more than just getting a dyno tune. or am i wrong?[&:]
