I'd get the installation kit with all the bearings and seals....to go with the FRPP 3.73s. I went that routr and installed them myself. Also, with FRPP gears you can almost always re-use stock shims. I (carefully) cut the bearing off the stock pinion, and took that shim ot and re-used it. I also re-used the metal spacers on both sides of the carrier. Dont forget 3 quarts of 75-140 and some friction modifier

You know most Napa's with machine shops will press that bearing off for like $5? Way worth it!

I JUST HAD A SET OF MOTIVE GEARS PUT IN MINE TODAY. THEY DON'T MAKE A BIT OF NOISE COULDN'T BE HAPPIER. I GOT THE WHOLE SET UP FOR 237.00 SHIPPED
I have the ford racing chinese gears (motive)and I've redone them 3 times and I still can't get rid of all the noise. They took a whole lot of shims to get the pinion depth right, 2 timesmore then I've ever stuck on any pinion gear. I hear ford stopped using them now because of so many complaints. The tech line told me the whine was normal. [:@]Go figure.

I also used FRPP 3.73 gears and replaced axles, all bearings, seals, rebuilt dif with carbon fiber clutches. I did everything myself and no whine at all.
