Default Possible Misfire?

Ok, so I took my car in to get certified, and while it was in the shop, the mechanic told me that it possibly has a missfire. I never really noticed it. But now once it gets warmed up the idle can get rough and the tach will fluctuate. Also, at around 2500 rpm's the car seems to skip or "hiccup" and the tach fluctuates. I was just wondering if this could be the sign of a misfire, or is something else causing this?

Also, I am replacing the spark plugs, and I have been reading up on the forum on what to put my gap to, but I am getting conflicting information. So if someone could straighten that out for me I would appreciate it.
Thanks.

ok thanks. As per the other situation, do you think that could be related to a misfire or does is sound more like a transmission or clutch issue?

It could be spark, fuel or that efi stuff. I would replace wires, dist.cap, rotor and fuel filter.

Thanks for the help.
