Default EGR eliminator plate? How does that fit?

Been looking at those plates that replace the EGR plate because I need more shock tower to throttle body clearance on my 67 (Which has a 5.0) so I figured if I removed the EGR and installed something like this http://rjminjectiontech.com/?p=9 (Scroll down a page or two) I would have room. However, I was looking at my engine and there is no way you can move the TB back, because the bottom of the throttle linkage bracket where the throttle cable attaches will smack right into the heater core tubes on the manifold. What gives?

Oh, so that intake manifold spacer is a requirement for the EGR delete plate? Not sure if that will clear the hood then unfortunately.

No, it isn't required. How are you running you heater hoses?

Not my heater hoses, but the metal lines (I BELIEVE they are heater hoses?) that run on top of the lower intake. They are higher than the bottom of the throttle cable mounting bracket by about an inch or so. I can take a picture if need be.
