charging issues
well. took the car into a shop cuz it wasn't charging the battery. turns out it was the voltage regulator. so they put in the new voltage regulator and everything was fine.
then, about ten minutes into the drive home, the amp gauge no longer reads charging. when i get it home, the battery is dead. i dunno what it might be unless the voltage regulator died again... anyone have any ideas?

RE: charging issues
k. charging system isn't the issue. it's charging fine according to a thingy for checking said charging (forgot what it's called) and the battery is good. so. it's a starter issue. i believe it's heat washing the starter.
IIRC, i can use a newer, smaller, more powerful starter on mine? is it a sn-95 starter?

RE: charging issues
If it actually is the starter...then you could convert to a mini-starter. `92 is when Ford started switching to it. But first check your starter relay by the battery to make sure it operates correctly. Converting to a mini involves a few wiring changes however.

RE: charging issues
Oh. ok. The mini starter is what i was thinking of.
The problem seems to be heat related- the car starts fine cold, and then once it's up to temperature it won't start. Acts as if the battery is dead- cranks slowly. Will the relay cause that?
