Default Driveshaft Question

Let's say I find a real clean 4 cyl Notchback and want to do a conversion but also want to drive it around while starting to do some of the mods. If I swap in an 8.8 rear would either the 5.0 driveshaft or the stock 4cyl driveshaft fit??

Thanks

You should go on summit and compare the two part numbers and see if they are the same or different.

Default RE: Driveshaft Question

Didn't stump me, the 4 cyl drive shaft will bolt right up no problem, I swapped a 8.8 into a 83 Ford Fairmont with a 200cid 6 cyl, and a 6.75 rear end (Yes there is something smaller than a 7.5). I later pulled the same rear end out and put it in the 79 coupe that is in my current sig picture replacing the 7.5. 91 ranger 2.3 with the 79's C3 auto used the 79's driveshaft direct bolt in same size u-joints.

Also if I remember correctly the 2.3 and 5.0 driveshafts are the same length and yoke.
