i posted this in the newbie posts by accident. i just got a 90 model stang body in perfect shape ($500) and i am looking to convert it to a 302/351. i just want to get to know as much as i can b4 i start. i just found a 302 police interceptor ($300) with 80,000 miles on it, is thisa deal that i dont need to let get away? also can i use my 4cyl tranny just put a new clutch and presurre plate in or do i need a v8 tranny? can i use my 4cyl rear end or will i need to get a 8.8 or9 inch? and i am thinking about going with a 3:73 gear is this a good gear in a 5 speed? one more thing what am i going to have to do with the suspension if anything? any help will be very much appreciated. as u can tell i need alot of help b4 i start so i have only tuned up a few of my imports and this is my first V8 car.

what are you plans for the car? that would help us help you. If it is just for commuting then the 7.5 rearend would be fine as long as you are not expecting to make gobs of hp. the tranny i believe will fit to a 302 with a different bell house, but i would recomend putting a new piece in like a TKO 500. as far as suspension goes, you should get a busing kit to smooth out the ride, and while the engine is out why not do tubular k-member and all that jazz if you have the money (look at UPR and Steeda) for products
