Default Ashtray Spring

I know this is a very common problem on the fox-body stang. My ashtray worked perfect until recently the spring came off of the ashtray lid. I have tried for 30+ minuteson several occasionswith long needle-nose pliers to re-install this spring. I can get it to work momentarily, but then it comes right back off. Anyone have any pics of how the spring is supposed to look when installed correctly? Is it possible to just re-install this spring, or should I just give up and order the kit from 50resto.com?

Can the spring not be put back in place? I thought the major "problem" with thesewas the plastictabs breaking off the lid.

the spring can be put back in place, theres a little trick to it i dont know how to explain, you just have to wiggle it in until you get it right. i have had it pop off twice, once randomly and once my fault for messing with it.
