Default no spark from coil, but coil is good, help please

ok this car is just giving me hell. i took it out for a dive after doing headgaskets and blew a heater core hose, was able to cut of the end and put it back on. drove a block and car died. no spark, had it towed home, no spark from the coil but the coil isnt bad, i put in a coil i know works and still no spark!! what would cause this??

i just stuck the coil out of my 86 bronco and it still doesnt spark, and i started the bronco 5 minutes ago so that coil is good. something else is wrong, what might it be?

anyone know if the power to the coil is constant? and where does it come from? the ecu?

Hmmm i remember I had this problem before (well not ME exactly) dont remember how I fixed it though, it was like 4 years ago[&:] it turned out to be something along the wiring around the coil

No spark, possibly the ignition module or the pick up coil in the distributor

It could be a bad ground or fusible link, see if you can google a wire diagram for your car and trace the wires.

If you got water everywhere, check the distributor. Dont know if the 86 uses the same horseshoe for the coil, but mine had a wire break in it. Pretty common.

cool, ok theres no spark coming "from" the coil.
if the tvi is bad will that cause an imcomplete circuit to the coil?
if the ecu is bad will that cause the same thing?
