Shorties are easier to install then Long tubes basically. Shorties are like what you have on the mustang now, they end basically inside the engine compartment and they have bigger primaries and let the car breath. Long tubes exit below your feet with the pipes. Can I ask why you want to run straight pipes to turbo mufflers? Why not try a H pipe or even a X pipe with some better mufflers? The aftermarket makes aboot 3 million possiblities of exhaust for fairly cheap and sound good.

I would definetly choose some better mufflers and run a off road pipe h or x.

i would hate to make a new thread about this so i will ask here. for long tube headers, 1-3/4 or 1-5/8? the 1-3/4 are more expensive but do they flow that much better? and i would assume they should fit the same as the 1-5/8 or is it harder to get them in?
thanks

Quit thread jacking! haha

How will straight pipes give you more power? If you have a pipe going between your exhaust, it will reduce the backpressure and will let your exhaust flow more equally and better then just straight pipes. Look through your summit catalog for mufflers like the Hooker Aero chambers or something because they all dont sound like flowmasters!

aight peepz. first of all.. the whole straigh pipe idea giving more power is retarded. straight piping your exhaust is going to give you less power. no backpressure is no good. even supercharged 302's or anything even supercharged you cant put straight pipes and **** like that.even they have to have backpressure. if you want your car to sound good and have good performance exhaust you need to go to mac exhausts website. http://www.macperformance.com/they have all kinds of setups for you car. fomr longtube all the way to the tail pipes.. or short tube. i am going to go with the long tube headers to a non catted h pipe (fitted for the longtubes of couse) to the cat back with chrome tips. mac isnt cheap but it is by far one of the best exhaust companies.
