Default 5.0 Project, Need Help and Opinions!

Hi, Me and my dad r going to buy a 5.0 project carby early january to work on when the weather gets nice in after winter. Wewill probably have a few thousand tospend on performance parts and will be doing most of the installs ourselves. I only no 4.0 performance now andb/c I am clueless in 5.0 performance, I need to ask u guys what would be some good performance things to buy on a $3k-$3.5k budget? I was thinking heads, exhaust, cai, and stuff like that, but I don't know what type of gains I will see for those things and if they will be worth the money. I think he wants to keep it n/a btw, info on f/i will be ok though. And any other info like how much thehp the transmission can take will be good too.Any help and #'s(costs and hp)will be greatly appreciated!

Heads are definately a good way to boost the power of the base 5.0s. Theyare good bang for the buck.Make sure you get a cam and intake to with them that will allow them to perform to their fullest.

How much would heads/cam/intake run? And what gains could we see from that w/or w/o a tune? I no he/we could do heads and intake manifold, but how hard is it to install a cam? Any money left after this? Thanx!

Not sure if it's going to be all out strip car, since it will be driven on weekends too. probably no roll cage, no completely stripped inerior. Manual is what we're getting. And a hatchback. Any info on the h/c/i and other stuff we can do is appreciated!

So how much would it cost to make the tranny stronger, or do u think I should just put another one in there? Gears I was thinking after heads/cam/intake, but I don't know how much that will run me. Any ideas how much it willcost to buy heads/cam/intake? I believe gears(3.73's or 4.10's?)r around $200 and install is around $300(don't want to screw up this install. leave it to a professional). What willthe heads/cam/intake combo put me at hp wise?I read the 5.0's have205HP 275Torque stock. So I doubt the heads/cam/intake will put me beyond 300hp but I don't know. Any advice or info on this?

Ithink I should do control arms and subframes before I do any motor work right? I think they will run $500 installed together. That's not bad. With thatand 4.10gears, will $2k-$2.5k be enough for heads/cam/intake if I install the heads/intake and possibly the cam(should I leave it to a professional)?
