How do I clear the check engine Light?

Check engine light is on. I want to clear it. Is there a DIY method?

unhook the battery for about 5 min and then re-hook it up

you said to clear not to fix. if you can identify the code you can fix the problem and not have to worry about the problem

The only EGR codes that will cause the CEL to illuminate are 31 or 35, not having any of the smog solenoids (codes 8x) connected will not cause the CEL to turn on. The reason for the "EGR Simulators" is to force an EGR code 33 only, and not have the CEL turn on.
