I'm new to the Mustang world of ownership and a couple of questions. What is a good all around performance clutch? I want a light pedal and the ability to stand up to some bolts-on but nothing brutal. I've heard the FMS HD clutch is terrible (and way stiff). I was thinking the FMS King Cobra or the Spec I clutch would be good. Any opinions? Other Mustang sites have opinions so widely scattered its hard to make any sense of it all. Thanks.

centerforce clutches have fairly light peddle feel and they grab hella hard

well the king cobra is junk, and wont stand up to many bolt ons,the centerforce is just plain crap(had a bran new one in my car, during a race with a friends 400 horse camaro i shifted into 3rd and completely blew all the friction material off the flywheel side of the clutch)(i still won by two cars though) now i have a zoom II kevlar in my car and it holds up pretty well.the only problem ive ever had with it is that once you get it oil soaked at all(i had a valve cover leak)it takes a while for it to act normal again.

Yeah, I wondered about the King Cobra. They claim "10% lighter pedal pressure" I'mlike, from what? The FMS HD clutch? They're stiff as hell. I've also heard questonable things about Centerforce too (wow, where did all the weights fly off to?). Nobody ever badmouths Spec (or Zoom really)though. I just didn't hear of the them till recently.

the rivets holding the friction material were sheered clean off,and there was friction material everywhere(i was cleaning it off my tranny mount)ive never heard any reel complaints about spec other than nasty chattering.but thats what you get when you start upgrading to that point.the zoom was pretty cheep but it has held up through alot of abuse.

Oh man now I hear about the King Cobra being weak. LOL f**k. How long do you think mine will last? My motor is suppose to be making somewhere around 330 rear wheel horspower. Is it just junk or can it withstand a little ? My friend had one in his 5.0 and it worked pretty good, it grabbed quick and was all good. But that was basicly a stock 5.0
