Default Transmission Troubles

As I said in another thread, my T-5 recently lost reverse. Well, I found out last night that it is for a Turbo 4 Cyl. car, so they make most of the replacement parts but the bearing retainer for the input shaft. So if we can't find a used one I'm screwed and have to either pay $650 for a used rebuilt T-5 or pay $700 to change my current T-5 to all v-8 parts. So I was wondering, does anyone know if the 94 to 95T-5's will bolt to the 85 bellhousing? Please tell me it's so as all the local yards don't have any preFox t-5s. I would really like to keep a 5 speed. They should have the same bellhousing bolt pattern shouldn't they?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, I would like to get my car back on the road soon.

Oh, and I forgot, are the newer t-5's the same length? Trans length, input shaft length?

you can change the input shaft though right? So I'm assuming that the 94-95 T-5 does bolt up to the 85 bellhousing then? That would be really nice.[&o]

Huh? are you talking about my transmission or the 94-95 one? the 94-95 should already be V-8 ready shouldn't it? Later on down the road i just want to use my 85 bellhousiing with a stronger, 94 or 95 T-5, for now we're rebuilding the one we have and putting it back in.

that's okay, just got confused there. So my 85 V8 bellhousing should bolt up to a 94 or 95 V8 T-5 right?
