PLEASE READ! ENGINE SPUTTERING at 3500rpms
hey guys. i have been having nothing but problems lately. My car is falling on its face around 3500rpms to 4000rpms. i havnt ever had this problem until a couple weeks ago and i cant figure it out. its like the car is getting way to much air. im not sure if its the mass air or something electrical because the motor isnt making any weird noises. i dont think its blown because you can drive it around under 3500 rpms and you cant tell there is anything wrong with it. when you give it to much gas, it just shuts off and like kills the motor until you let off the gas. plz let me know all of your input. anything is appreciated. im trying to sell the car so i can get another stang. btw price is 3500$ i was asking 5500$.

there arent really any other problems. but one day one of my hose clamps on my CAI came loose and it was sucking air straight into my throttle body and it shut off while i was driving it and it seems like ever since then it has been doing it. like as soon as i push on the gas it does it. sometimes if the car is cold it will be fine for a few minutes but then it will cut out anywhere from 3000rpms to 4500rpms. how do you pull the codes. do i need to let a technician hook a computer to it? or is there a way to just reset the computer to factory specs by un hooking the negative side of the battery. the car doesnt idle bad or anything. you wouldnt know anything was wrong until you got on it.

Please post the codes or PM them to me! I have the EXACT same problem with mine. In the mornings when it is cold I can start it up and give it hell through 3rd gear, but when I hit 4k rpms it bogs and then goes back to how it normally acts.

alright the i found a code guide. One was ECT out of self test range 0.3-3.7. 02 sensor indicates system lean left side. left side still lean. MAF went below 0.4 volts during last 80 warm up cycles. my cylinders all checked up as good. code was 90. there were more codes but it all goes to system lean left side and the MAF was going below 0.4. What do you all suggest. my MAF is cracked on top and my car has always had a problem with Detonation and i have been adding fuel pressure with my regulator but it doenst help. any suggestions?
