Removing Fenders?
How hard is it to romove the fenders on my 87GT. What is involved? Would someone beable to tell me where all the bolts are because I am sure I won't be able to find them all. Also does the bumper have to come off first(please say no). I am doing this to try and find a water leak so it is kind of urgent... Thanks in advance guys

RE: Removing Fenders?
Have you already pulled the cowl panel and checked the seem sealer in there?
Don't over look a plugged condensation drain from the A/C-heater box. This can cause water to leak into the car as well.
You don't have to remove the bumper, the fender will come off with it intact.
You may have to remove the inner fender to get to all the bolts.
Put a couple layers of masking tape on the edge of your fender and door and bumper so you don't scratch it all up.
Thereare quite few nuts and bolts about 10-15. Most of them are holding the fender to the bumper cover. Take your time and don't force anything it will be free when all the bolts are out.

RE: Removing Fenders?
did you see under the dash where it is running in??? personally I'd remove the seat and lay on my back while someone sprays the car with water and look for the oint of entry with my head under the dash

RE: Removing Fenders?
I already repaired the cowl which was rusted through a couple weeks ago this fixed to problem of water comming stright down onto the pedals lol. Now the water is pooling onto the floor and I can see the stream of water where it exsits the firewall sound deading. The stream is coming from the far left under the sound deading pad on the drivers side.
Leaks fixed so far.
-windsheild resealed
-door weatherstripping
-rusted out cowl
-floor
So as you can see im running out of spots for it to come from.

RE: Removing Fenders?
At this point I am wishing I could replace a heater core instead of taking my fenders off but I can't bo so lucky. But I suppose with my luck the heater core will go as soon as I can fix this leak and the carpet dries out.
