Default flushing the heater core

I figure since I have the motor out of the car I would backflush the heater core, since I have really hard water here and I have put straight water in the cooling system, could any one explain to me exactly how to do it or point me in the right direction?

Blast the hose throw each heater hose nipple.
Reverse first. After it runs clear you are good to go.

you know what I just thought about, we use water from a well, so if I shove the hose in there to clean in im going to end up being in the same spot I was before..

since you're dealing with just the heater core (i did it with the whole system) you could just put a hose over the the top pipe (make sure its like 2' long so its well over the highest point) and pour some in along with some distilled water. im pretty sure you can buy it really cheap. if you want it to chill in there for while, which is pretty much the only way its gonna work , just put a hose on the bottom pipe to and hold it up so it won't leak out....thats what i would suggest if you wanted to go that route. and for down the road you can put a ground on the core so its less likely to f' up in the future

when i did it i poured it in the rad and ran it like that for a few miles, made sure it got nice and hot then flushed it out with distilled water
