I've been out of the forums for quite some time.... But I have still have a problem that I havent had time to adress until now.
347 stroker =) Running HOT! like 220-240 degrees. and it gets hotter when i'm at idle. I know i'm running lean because I fried some piston rings and blew my head gasket. I have a 3 row aluminum radiator and a big *** fan, so I know thats not the problem. I think I have figured out that my problem is that i'm still running on the stock fuel curves of the stock computer. I had it dyno'd and it was tweaked for wide open throttle, but not for running about town. So I can either spen a **** ton of money on a good chip and get the car re-dyno'd or install a megasquirt II. just wondering what would be the best. I have looked up stuff on Mega Squirt and to be honest the **** scares me. Its really complicated, and i'm not that saavy with programming ****. anyone have some advice.

1. Get a full tune
2. Check your t-stat, make sure its not in backwards
3. Mega Sqrt will leave you tons of room to grow and adjust
and control timing better, but will still require "dyno tuning"

my t-stat is on the right way =) funny you should mention that though, first time I changed the thermostat on the car, I forgot to check which way it went and the haynes manual doesnt show the picture on how to install it. I went through quite a mission trying to figure it out lol. the T-stat doesnt have anything to do with me running lean though...does it?

not with the size of that aluminum radiator and the black magic fan that is on it. I havent seen my headers glow but they are turning colors. I know they get hot because I have burned myself on them nasty. Tstat is in the right way. no obstructions whatsoever.

are they chrome headers? they'll turn different colors as the chrome goes through a chemical change, but if the are glowing red then it might also be a lean issue(or was it rich)
