There's an ET/mph range that if you run you need an SFI approved scattershield, but I dunno what it is so hopefully someone here will. I've yet to find a comprehensive online NHRA safety requirement guide.

yes they want you to buy those nhra guides thats why there not posted online anywhere.

11.50 is the magic number once you get that fast its time to spend some money on safety equipment other than a helmet!
im not sure how fast you have to be for that scatter shield but if you dont run faster than 11.50 your good!
the onlky other thing if they wanna get picky is a safety drive shaft loop for drag radials and slicks..I run drag radials but they have never checked for a loop good thing I dont have one.

different tracks have their own regulations. the one i go to you need a ds loop at 13.99 or better or running slicks, 12.99 stick shift vehicles need a scattershield or running slicks, 6 pt roll after 11.50,anything under 10 secs needs built to nhra/ihra specs. just check out those tracks online or get a phone number. but before i go back to the track i am deff putting a ds loop on mine. it cost me ALOT when mine snapped just on the street

I need to install my loop as well. Prolly not needed, but it's a lot cheaper than replacing whatever breaks if the u-joint lets go.
