Default Blower Install

Hey guys, I'm installing a blower on a stock 92 LX....I've always had N/A setups in the past and decided to try forced induction....so here's what I'm trying to do:

Got a T-trim Vortech with Aftercooler kit....and have a basically stock 5.0...wanted to know if there is anything I should do before running car or things to look out....I'm going to do the following: Bolt kit on...upgrade injectors to 30# and a single 255 intank pump.....upgrade intake to Trick Flow (since it will be off might as well) any other suggestions? Should I mess with an FMU or? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Since you got 30lbers i would not even use the fmu, thats just a bandaid for people who dont want to buy injectors. My advice is to get 42lbers unless you never plan on changin the heads and cam. Mine as well upgrade the throttle body too and your going to need an aftermarket maf cuz yours will peg. I got an lmaf in mine.Otherwise just take it to get a good dynotune after you get it running.

Cool....well here's the plan...I'm currently building a 331 thats going in the car....but since I bought this kit as a take off and have a box of bolts and parts etc....I wanted to put it on the stock motor iron out any issues with the blower (if any) and figure out what is or isnt missing from the kit....so with the 331 I'm def. going with the 42's...I got this kit with 30# and a complimenting MAF....thanks

Wrong! if it was a band aid for people that don't want to buy injectors why would they make a 42lb injector disk that goes in the FMU? It bumps up the fuel pressure when you are under boost. There's a fewpeople on this forum that are tuned with larger injectors and they keep the FMU on there anyways for safety reasons.

When adding boost, you need to install a boost reference fuel regualtor or FMU regardless.
The added pressure is not to make up for injector size but
to provide proper fuel spray into a higher pressure atmosphere.

If it sprayed at N/A fuel pressure levels even with bigger injectors it would not atomize properly.

You need to get 42Lbs injectors and custom dyno tune with boost and upgrades you plan.

FMU????

I run 42s with an Aeromotive boost reference fuel regulator(psi increases 1 to 1 with boost)..

I have a friend with a very similar build and he runs 38s with a FMU...we both have our cars tuned real tight and the AFR and power graphs look pretty similar....

Not sure it helps...just providing some info....My advice would be at least 42s with that 331 and maybe even bigger depending on how much boost.. on the stock motor try the 30s, but bring the FMU to the tuner so you can add it if it runs real lean.
