Yeah. I agree with everyone. Sounds like your IAC valve is sticking. I had a 2001 ranger 5-speed. It would stick and would pullmy truck around town like I had the cruise control on. I cleaned mine 5 times. It would only last a couple of weeks. I changed mine with a new one. And it finished the problem for good. I think it didn't cost much.

yep iac is a main suspect mine did the opposite though it whould go down to lik 400 rpm at a light i replacedthe iac and it works now
