You sound like me about four weeks ago getting a new main case shipped priority shippedfrom Tremec right around Christmas. To really properly TIG it all the fluid has to be out and it really should be beaded on the back as well. I have heard the best way it to notch it, fill in the plug area and then retap it. Mine was TIG welded, JB welded on top of it and still leaked and it was a hairline crack that just started to walk as the tranny was getting rebuilt. If you have the time or ability replace the case now.

I spoke with Bob Hanlon of Hanlon Motorsports last month and they have a million used cases in stock, cost I believe was $45 bucks. They are in PA, google it and call him...Do it right once...
