yea... well working at a machine shop, heres my opinion
you dont have to hot tank EVERYTHING... not to mention, alot of shops dont even have hot tanks anymore because of EPA. yes, it does clean everything and all, but its just not nesacery on everything possible...
as for your port work, doesnt look bad... imo you should have taken some more time to look into it, and did some bowl work aswell... and yea the intake flows well... but it could flow better

yeah, i mainly meant to hot tank the heads after porting them because of the metal shavings. and i did grind the bowls down to the same inside diameter as the valve seat, i just didnt take a picture of it, the one picture was when i first started working in the bowls.
thanks for the compliment dimebag!

there is a water jacket that runs right under the exhaust port on these be very careful or you will hit it and ruin the head people who have tried to port these actually hurt flow these heads are better just as they are
if your planning on it this might help http://www.stangpro.com/html/article...les/gt40p1.htm it has some pics of the water jackets in the heads here and some pretty good links on the gt40p

interesting link tt, i noticed that they justified that the gt40 cobra heads are factory milled to raise compression. maybe some other people here can learn a few things from that link.

You need to be very careful if anyone is going to try and do any work on the intake ports of a head. The exhaust side isn't as easy to mess up as the intake. On the intake stroke the piston is of course trying to pull the mix in through the port and the camshaft overlap hopefully is helping with some scavenging. It doesn't take much to mess that all up on the intake side. I had a set of E7TEs ported at a professional shop that does heads on Formula Ford race cars. The owner showed methat one little slip up can hinder the flow on the intake side. The exhausts are not so bad because the piston is pushing everything out, but with Fords exhaust portsare their weakpoint anyway so pretty much anything will help. This guy knew what he was doing, with stock size valves my E7TEsonly made 20rwhp and 16rwtq less than my AFR 165s with everything else staying the same.

thats interesting, do you happen to have any pics of your e7's after porting? also what in particular did he advise NOT to do in regards to the intake port?
