alright guys, I did a 3g install about a week ago and now my car will not start unless I jump it, with the car off the battery is reading 10.7 volts????
so... I don't care.....let me tell you a little story about new parts....just cause it was new doesn't mean it was good...one of my techs was given a f-250 this week to troubleshoot and after a half hour he was lost no idea what was causing the misfire on the 5.4 triton v-8..customer had replaced all coil packs with new ones from napa the previous day to correct misfire and nada!!...so my tech assumed they were good...he wanted to condem the ecm just cause all ignition parts were new....and no proof to back his assumption....so I took over the troubleshooting process and asked him did he test for this..this and that... he said no so reluctantly he tested all the stuff I told him to do while standing over him and what do ya know..I found two brand spankin' new coil packs to be bad[&:] go figure??..and this isn't the first instance with new parts I've run into this...you need to check all connections and wiring and perform voltage drop tests on the wiring and check fuse box and check resistance of wiring and make sure the charge wire is hooked in the right spot
Listen to the man, have take the alt out. Go to Autozone have it tested. (Make sure that guy knows what the hell he is doning) Go from there. I just had this happen to me not a month ago. Went through2 new alt.Know your working with a solid productbefore taking it off 3 or 4 times. Trust me take it in.
Alsomight want to check your wires coming off the solenoid, make sure there still hot
I took the old battery out...put the new one in, I even tightened the bolts on the terminal. To my knowledge all connections are good. I can jump it, go out and drive it for a while come back home shut it off wait 5 minutes and no power??? It's driving me crazy!!!
