Default Which Heads Are Better ?

My dad said he was looking at heads and he said edlebrock has slightly higher numbers than AFR. We were looking at AFR originally. So my question is, which are better Edlebrock or AFR heads ?

If your Dad is looking into buying a set of heads based only on advertised flow tables....... suggest he looks again. There are other items/characteristics he should also check........ like valve train quality for the intended application.

well depending on price...i'd get the cheaper heads then do a little port work

i would never put a set of heads on a car box stock, there is too much to be gained afor little $$$$$$

small block ford heads lack exhaust flow , and at minimum need porting there. not 1 single head made for the 5.0 isoptimum from the box

Very true. I have had 2 sets of Edelbrock heads and both of them had valve train parts issues in quality and assembly.

i would never buy a set of heads because ons companies flow bench shows better than anothers.. to many variables there, the only way to be sure is test both on the same bench.... i have dart pro1's 195cchad my friend port them and put 2.05 valves in them and now they outflow brodix track 1's.... but that does you no good if tou don't have the rest of the package.

I agree, you can bet the house that the parts installed are quality and they are assembled correctly.

Edit: Let me clarify my statement: If you get the heads from CI you can guarantee the heads have been gone through and the correct parts have been installed.
