sounds like you need a top mount s/c

instant boost, torque curve flatter then a pre pubercated girls' chest
crusing it makes little if any noise at all...
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hahahahahahahah

yeah, that's exaclty what I'm looking for (not the girl!).

So after a search on the web Kenne Bell popped up. Best choice or are there better (value wise)?

yeah that made me lol.

As for quiet forms of boost, turbos don't make any noise until they spool and then it sounds like a jet engine, which is awesome. Kenne bells only whine under boost, other than that they are silent. Some Vortechs are quiet also, not too familiar with those.

Trust me you want a nice single turbo kit.
Will make more power than KB for same money.

Turbo is quiter than an s/c because exhaust has to
pass thru turbo.

You can have the blow off valve exhaust into
intake before turbos and you wont here it.

Turbo will have just as much torque off the line
and will come with intercooler.

the reason you hear the blow off valve more on a turbo car is because its released out in the atmosphere while superchargers got bypass, does teh same absic thing just recirculates it through the intake and back through the supercharger thats why its much quieter, my kb isnt a loud whine at all at 10psi and below.
Ok, KB is Kenne Bell. Got it now :-) So the stock auto tranny is taking the abuse? Or did you mod it? What power are you getting with your setup (on pump gas)?

Do you recommend a particular kit?

Its taking it suprisingly, at 10 psi stock pump gas 350+ lbs of torque at 3000 rpm at the wheels on a stock 5.0 engine through an auto ive yet to see a turbo beat that. Blowzilla kit, Flowzilla if you plan on putting it on a stroker.

+1 on going turbo instead of supercharged. You will get annoyed by the whine very quickly from it, trust me. The turbo can be made to be very very quite, and is cheaper and easier to produce more power with. A simple single turbo setup will do you very well.

Each set up has its ups and downs

Turbos are typically very expensive for the average joe, tuning becomes issues, and day to day reliablility, ALOT of piping running a muck in your engine bay, boost leaks, intercooler problems, blah blah blah

Top Mount S/Cs are slightly less expensive and much more simple,

TURBOS WILL ALMOST ALWAYS OUT PERFORM A S/C REMEMBER THAT!

but for street use, def get the top mount S/C, slap a Whipple, Kenne Bell, or a WEIAND on there
