Ive never done drum brakes before, are they a pain in the *** to do myself or should i get it in the shop? Cost much to have done?

They are more aggravating than disk but you can do it easily by following the manual. If money isn't an issue i believe the price is the same for drums as they are for rotor brakes. It would be a learning experience but if they are for the back (i'm assuming they are) a brake job will last for years.

take both wheels and drums off and you can use one side to reference where parts go. that's how i used to do it before i got used to them.

Get a drum brake tool set too... It will make your life a good bit easier. I was borrowing my dad's Mac set for years until I recently purchased this set. It works surprisingly well for the price and expected quality.
