Default blocking off the riser?

Im finishing off new motor and im going to delete my smog end egr but i dont want hot gasses building up in my intake. ive heard a couple og guys saying to block off egr at the risers? i have gt40 iorn p's and edlebrock performer efi intake do i block the passage off in the lower intake or the head and how?

risers?? what are you talking about?? if it's a fox egr was taken through the exhaust crossovers that went through the heads up to the intake....the only way to block egr is remove it and install a block off plate..the holes at the back of the head are for the thermactor air system= smog pump

yeah but what about the passages int the intake and head they will still build up wiht exhuast gasses right? even if i take the egr off right the gasses flow from the head up threw the intake right?

Yes it will. I blocked mine on my stock intake using a set screw in my lower intake to keep it going into the upper.

yes so when you get ready to install the intake......in some fel-pro gasket kits there is a little cut out that you can place over the exhaust crossover ports on the heads to cover the holes up..so cover them up with the supplied little football gasket and your done ..then install intake and no more egr flow ..but make sure you don't have emissions or to pass you'll have to remove intake and un block the ports to get egr operational again

nope emis not a prob got h pipe and dumps and inspecto,r my engine builder. that answerd my question i just didnt want to bake my intake thanks guys one day ill get pics of all my **** i dont get 2 geton here alot when im not living at work im workin on my stuff appreciate the help.
