Default carb CAI

would a setup like this work for just a more direct CAI for a carb? Like just an elbow that goes to the hole in the fender?

why not use a dual snorkal 85 air cleaner and I extended the tubes in the fenderwell with pvc pipe and flexable tubing and used a march ram air scoop on the right side and on the left side I cut the march ram air scoop and flipped it the other way to work and used strapping and adhesive to hold it together..it looks very proffesional and it's mounted right under the front bumper cover on both sides...very subtle and sleak look..sorry no pics to show you

you can find a dual snorkal air cleaner on ebay...get one from a gt 4 barrel car and the scoops I picked them up through march performance..call them direct and order just the scoops from them...you'll have to cut the one for the driver side and flip the scoop the proper way.......and I went to home depot and in the pvc section for pipe ..I picked up adapters for the circular end...and the appropriate sized dryer duct and two large hose clamps to clamp the end to the march scoops and if you car was originally a 5.0 85 model it should have the fenderwell scoops in place already and just connect and clamp the dryer tube to the ends in the fenderwell and wham!! your done!! functional ram air!!!

dryer duct....less than 10 dollars clamps 5 dollars....adapters 15 maybe?? dual snorkal air cleaner..hmmmm depends 50 to 75 on ebay may be less....and the scoops 50 a piece new from march performance ... so when it was all said and done under 200.00...but cost wsn't a concern I wanted it to look original and professional..I got the idea from a kid I saw do it at the track..only his was less professional looking.. he had used just dryer duct and took two antifreeze jugs and cut the bottoms off and used that as his scoops.....his design was **** poor but served the same function...so I sat a few days and thought how I could improve upon his idea and what you see is what I came up with= nice clean original look
