Default Distributer 180 out?

okay

where #2 is on that 5.0 chart is where my number one is on my car...

i've been told over and over again 180 out, what does this mean and is it a simple fix?

Usually the 1 would be where the 3 is on that distributor cap. How does the car run? Does it run? If it was 180 out, the car would barely run.

roll number 1 up on tdc and see where the rotor lines up.......it may be a few teeth off on the initial stab someone did

180 out means 180 degrees (like a half circle) out of location. It would appear that yours is actually 135 degrees out:

360 degrees in a circle / 8 cylinders = 45 * 3 (the # of cylinder its out).

All that really means nothing in terms of getting if right. Adder's walk through is very good and should get you on track.

It must be a pain in the *** to unhook your TFI module if your distributer is that far off. Is your cap just on backwards or something? I didn't think there was that much wire in the harness to get the plug that far around the dizzy.

if the car runs fine......then why are you concerned? you know the non HO 5.0's have a diff firing order than the H.O. 5.0's...
