Default MAF ECU questions

OK here I am. I have a 1991 Mustang 5.0 HO engine with a hot cam and has been rebuilt .30 over with a 1986 T5 manual behind it. My delema is the computer sold to me is a speed density with all the wiring for a MAF computer. Go figure my bad. Well can a Automatic computer (ie A9P) for a 1989-93 ECU work with a manual transmission. I fully understand a manual tranny ECU (ie A9L) will not work with a Automatic tranny but I have heard otherwise about the Automatic to manual and plus the Automatic ECU is slightly Hotter in the highter RPM range than a Manual tranny car. Just for your information the engine is now located in a 1960 pickup. Any other advise is welcome and I am looking for possible gas mileage so please no carb information. If I was going that route it would have been a 428 or 460 in the truck instead. Thanks and I will look later in earlier posts for the same info just dont have a lot of time right now and I am sure someone is very knowlegable about this information.

You will be fine. With a manual tranny, you can use either.

See the section called "Are the A9L and A9P Computers Inter-changeable? "
on the following site...
http://www.freewebs.com/vristang/eecivfaqs.htm

In the Fox Mustangs the auto trans is not electronically controlled, so the ecu makes a relatively minor difference.

The timing differences are minimal in my mind.

either the A9L or A9P will do well...
(my grandfather used to have one of those trucks... very cool!)

Thank you very much I really appreciate it that gives me a whole lot of options that I was not aware of. I will post a pick as soon as I can lower the pixels.
