Default timing question

I'm finishing up my rebuild, but the engine is having some timing issues. Its a 5.0 running w/ a 650 carb setup. How mich advance have other people found to work best?

Default RE: timing question

depends on the combo but 32 to 36 is a good range 34 is what I usually shoot for and it has been optimal on my carb set ups..but total advance is not the only factor that needs to be tuned.....rate of advance is a key factor to as well as initial base setting
