X pipe or H pipe.. What makes better power

X pipe or H pipe.. What makes better power
My setup is a D-1 blocker 347stroker. Im thinking bout mac long tube headers 1 5/8's ceramic coated... what H or X pipe should I buy? what will make more power mid low or high range? thanks guys

X-pipes generally make more power, but H-pipes give you that American Muscle growl. I have an H on my 02, and I dont regret it at all. I could care less about losing the 2 whole horsies. You may gain a bit more though due to your setup.

ok thanks alot guys.. Pypes makes a pretty mean X pipe.. I think ima go with pypes X pype and mac lt's I dont know about mufflers yet.. Im not sure what to do cuz of the blower ?

When it comes to X and H pipes I would chose based off the sound just for the simple fact there is about a whole 2 HP difference between the two like "GTdude" said

Nothing beats the sound of an H, imho. When I bought my stang there was an x on it already, I got rid of that thing quick. One word: flow 40's through an uncatted H and long tubes FTMFW.
BBK makes great stuff. MAC is another popular one, but they like to warp and installation is much easier on the BBKs, from what I've heard. Mine was easy.
...for as easy as long tube header installations ever are [:'(]

Go with the X!! I went with UPR.....I am not sure if they make ones to fit the long tubes...
With your setup......347, Long tubes and an X-Pipe......That is going to sound AWESOME!!

Choose the sound you like, H pipe = Deep Muscle car tone or X pipe High Pitched Nascar tone.
One thing that helped me decide when I was starting to lean towards theX was a reply by a Ford Tech that saidH pipes sound best on 5.0's while X pipes soundbest on modular 4.6's.
O/R H pipe for me next week!!

I have bbk long tubes with a x pipe. I had shorties and h pipe on there before and i love the way the car sounds now. My exhaust on the new motor will be BBk long tubes and x pipe with Spintech Prostreets dumped at the axels. eww nasty.
