Default 5.0 back on the road!

I registered my 5.0 today very happy!I ended up buying a used set of gt40p heads and a explorer upper and lower intake manifold with the 65mm tb.Anywyas Im not going to rebuild the motor it only has 87k on it all original, and no pinging or knocking at all.Anyways i leak oil kinda bad maybe need to put a quart in every 1 month and a half.My tranny grinds in second so what Im thinking is pull the motor find where its leaking i think its from the oil pan.Rebuild tranny and put on the heads and intake.I want to rebuild the heads and port and polish them as well intake as well.Anywyas what do you guys suggest for what Im doing and the type of valvtrain to buy when rebuilding the heads? Thanks

not reqiured but im sure anyone else who has done the H/C/I upgrade will highly recomend cam injectors and MAF, along with your new heads, and eventually exhaust, getting air out of the engine is as every bit important as bringing air in

o ok I see well a cam seems like a good choice while the engine is pulled.Do you think Im leaking oil from the oil pan?Ive already had the rear main seal timing cover gasket and intake manifold gasket replaced. Also what do I need when rebuilding the heads?Valve springs?Do I actually need new valves themselves? If so where do I get that kind of stuff?thanks for the help.

before pulling motor for a oil leak ..clean it down and look for the leak..= may not need to pull the motor

well the tranny grinds in second and is making noises so I want to fix that as well. And I figure might as well pull the motor to do heads and intake.and then fix the oil leak.

sure why not........I pulled the motor on my 92 last march just to do a cam swap and regasket alot of leaks.......go for it.........and as for the tranny......either the second gear sincro hub is mushroomed/ trashed and or the blocker ring is bad...my guess is a little of both
